"The cruelty of consistent delay employed by the Trump regime - as always - is a feature, not a bug." Thanks for a very interesting, up-to-date article about one of the sickest actions by the orange sadist's regime.

It is the congressional Republicans who are enabling the Trump regime and all of it’s cruelty, law-breaking, blatant corruption, destruction of vital institutions, dangerously isolating America and taking a sledgehammer to our economy.

Cruelty is the point of the Trump regime!

We need to remove him, the sooner the better. There are a couple of paths as I see it: the 14th amendment, insurrectionist, and the 25th Amendmen. What do you think?

WHEN are his cult followers going to wake up? MAGA is a cult and a religion. They can’t admit the great orange one has failed miserably and made their lives worse. 🤦‍♀️

I am proud to wear this "Don't blame me, I voted for her" t-shirt everwhere I go 👇

If these judges are so mad, they should start contempt proceedings.

Until they get their own security detail, there's no way to implement the charges. They're working on that, because U.S. Marshals are run by the executive, not judicial branch. They need their own to put any of those MF's into jail. The Marshals won't do it cuz they work for the orange menace.

Totally agree. That’s why everyone with any power should do everything within their power to slow him or stop him.

I thought the US Marshals had to enforce the rulings of the federal courts?

I wouldn’t assume none would act.

He can pardon them, but it would throw a temporary wrench in the works.

KingRayVet's avatar

Well, get HIM first! He can't pardon himself. Do you think his rich buddies would? LOL

I think Shady Vance is ambitious enough to leave him in jail/prison. 😂 There is nobody else with power higher than the courts. They're our last line of defense, and average Americans can't help them one way or the other.

We need to take the entire regime out and that would take very careful planning without enough time to do it. So, let's hope they get Mango Mussolini and put him where he belongs.

He was given immunity by the Supreme Court. The Republicans won’t impeach him. How could we get him out first? LEGALLY?

KingRayVet's avatar

No, Kathy. You are not paying close enough attention. One of his people just gave permission to charge him with crimes that he is doing on "personal time," opening her big mouth without realizing what she said. Probably the blonde Bundi. The bribes, grifting, etc. I forget which journalist revealed this fact, but he's breaking the law and also his oath of office. Everything he's doing is a lie.

He is not doing many of the things he is in contempt for on his personal time. He is doing them in his official capacity.

Perhaps you are not paying attention and simply want to mansplain.

They can fine them as they have fined Trump before.

Fines will do nothing. He has too many rich friends and is grifting his way up. What's a damn fine going to do? Not a MF thing. That man isn't concerned with $$$$$$$$, nor any of his thugs working with him.

His attorneys can be sanctioned. There are other means available to them before the US Marshals are involved. I have only read of one judge who has taken any action.

Trump’s rich friends are getting tired of his nonsense.

Expand full comment
KingRayVet's avatar

Yeah, I'm sure they are getting tired of him, but they'll never tire of him trying to make them richer. Only money talks to those kinds of people. But he needs to be taken out. Not left there to continue all this destruction. It's dangerous and every passing day, getting even more so. I know lots of people are in denial of that, but I'm not. I don't underestimate Project 2025, which they're doing step-by-step until this place is completely NOT the USA. They're 42% finished.

It’s simply amazing how the court just bends over backwards for the regime. They are so scared of them just outright saying no I really wish somebody would just push the envelope and we can get this nightmare over with.

Eric- TBF it’s appropriate to have some deference between coequal branches. But Trump admin exhibits none - so they’re sort of treading new ground.

Recall Trump’s trials, including the rulings about his sexual assault his FELONY CONVICTIONS - judges showed caution to limit possibilities of being overturned on appeal. Except for Cannon 🤪

I don’t understand why the courts continue to coddle these Maladministration behaviors. It’s a repeated pattern of delay, obfuscation, and non-compliance. Seems to me that the orders should be more in the character of “bring all those people before me —- NOW. Get on with it!” There needs to be some pain associated with their actions, or they’ll just keep doing it.

Allison--You are amazing. I often wonder if you get a chance to sleep. I so appreciate all you do. Between your podcasts and writings as well as Heather Cox Richardson's work, I feel that topics I cannot decipher on my own suddenly become understandable and meaningful. Thank you. My heart aches for the cruelty these people are enduring. There may very well be some who have committed crimes and need to be deported (to their country of origin), but how can we know without due process?

J AZ's avatar

Suzanne - the “deport convicted criminals “ slogan has always had a major flaw. Rarely talked about AFAIK: to serve justice and law’n’order, plus potentially deterrence, incarceration thru completion of sentence should occur in the US, then do deportation proceedings. Consider Ramzi Yousef - after his conviction should he have been deported to Pakistan? …where he’d be back in terror business? Same with traffickers of humans or drugs, cartel leaders, violent convicts. They should remain in US prisons to complete sentences rather than allow foreign governments to take jurisdiction over them… especially where we may suspect inadequate systems of justice in those countries

Judge should starting detaining these DOJ fascists. Start with Ensign going to jail, and every day the disappeared people are not returned to the US for their due process, add another : Ensign's boss, that person's boss, right up to bondi.

On second thought, Judge Murphy has cleverly laid a trap for the government. By giving the government choices he forecloses their excuses. It's not nice to trap Mother Bondi. :)

I wonder if all the delay at this point is to delay until that "big, beautiful bill" is passed by the Senate and signed into law by DJT, so that the provision kneecapping the judiciary goes into effect and they can just do what they want without anyone being able to do anything about it in the courts.

Very possibly, that’s the goal. To render anyone they want to another country without interference without habeus corpus. Opening a back door to a lawless state .

The phrase “giving them enough rope to hang themselves” springs to my mind, though the speed at which the court is (or should I say courts are) moving is very frustrating. I get the impression that they are doing their very best to avoid a situation where there is outright contempt and someone has to go to jail as they do not have any faith in the DoJ that any such order would be obeyed.

These judges need to be clear & precise & stop “mucking around” with their thought process to accommodate this administration. Enough already! What we laypeople are seeing is another 4 years of stagnant stalls in the judical process so Trump can boost his ego & MAGA base with propaganda.
