A new Truth Social post from Donald Trump has everyone talking about Trump using the FCC to rig polls in his favor. But this isn’t the first time he’s rigged the polls.
Election rigging explains the Burnt Orange Criminal’s election in 2016 and 2024 and his ongoing disbelief that he lost in 2020. He was always a cheat and a liar and Roy Cohn trained him to lie about cheating.
The belief is that he had the corruption in place to steal 2020 but they were not prepared and could not manipulate the overwhelming number of absentee votes because of COVID.
Whose belief? In 2020 the Democratic candidate was a white man. In 2016 it was a white woman, and in 2024 it was a woman of color -- and, as I just noted elsewhere, the Harris-Walz ticket had a very late start thanks primarily to Biden's decision to run for a second term (despite his earlier assurances that he inteded to be a one-term president) and that disastrous debate performance that pretty much forced him to bow out.
Rigging polls and rigging elections are very different things. Presidential elections are decentralized. Electors are elected state by state. How do you figure the vote count was rigged in all 50 states plus D.C. and the territories?
I have zero trouble believing that he won in 2016 and 2024 but not in 2020. Consider: In 2016 his Democratic opponent was a white woman. In 2020 his Democratic opponent was a white man. In 2024 his Democratic opponent was a woman of color. Misogyny + racism are enough to explain both outcomes, but in 2024 the very late start of the Harris-Walz campaign has to be factored in. The heartbreaker is that if they'd had a couple of months more, they very well might have pulled it off.
I agree that misogyny, COVID, Biden's bloated ego, racism and DNC incompetence influenced these 3 elections.
HOWEVER, Russia clearly twisted the 2016 election (remember Manafort, Cambridge Analytica/FaceBook, Brad Parscale) -- perhaps mostly via disinformation as opposed to tampering with election results but I bet we learn more as time goes on.
I think COVID and prevalence of mail-in ballots screwed the Orange Pumpkin's efforts in 2020 because I think he was persuaded by someone that he could interfere with the results, digitally.
Re. 2024, note that only the swing states needed to be "rigged" (interfered with), and there's some interesting evidence that they were. Take a close look at This Will Hold's substack archive starting in Dec 2024 and the SMARTElection substack re verifiable evidence of election tampering.
Yep. The down ballot discrepancies are eye-watering. Plus flipping every country, just above the margins for recounts. It's still happening. And it's going to happen again.
I'm agree it fits for 2016. People needed extra encouragement to vote for this nut. He didn't win the popular vote. Not sure if this was true in 2024. People were extremely discouraged over housing and costs. This was a long term issue that sent low propensity voters to the polls. While those horrified by Gaza were more likely to sit it out. The weak dem campaign truly missed the mark on people's desire for change.

Why is it so hard for people to believe that the computerized vote has been hacked? Every computer system can be hacked, and now GOP controls ~80% of machines (ES&S and Liberty Vote (formerly Dominion)) so they likely don't even need real-time hacks in many precincts to win. They are hacking elections on the tabulation side as well as the voter registration side (deleting real voters and adding ghost voters who vote how they program them -- see the work of Alison Greene @itsuptous). Republicans have been hacking elections since HAVA was passed in 2002 to allow computerized voting. It has become more egregious with Trump, especially with Musk helping run real-time hacks (supposedly even Oracle/Israel may have helped in 2024). Trump only lost in 2020 because the enormous wave of mail-in ballots overcame the preset hacks. The most obvious recent hack was Massie's primary (see the work of @electiontruthalliance).
To understand the full history of GOP hacking, how it has right-shifted our government at all levels, and left democrats grasping at straws for explanations on losses, read Jonathan Simon's book, Code Red: Computerized Elections and the War on American Democracy. He's made it free and publicly available on his website as a PDF (see below). Every democracy-loving American has no excuse not to read this. He was educated at Harvard and NYU School of Law and was the only person in the world who took screenshots of the exit polls in 2004 before they disappeared (poll companies took them down because they didn't match the vote results in the first election after computerized vote machines were legalized). Exit polls are used to determine the legitimacy of an election and ours have been manipulated since 2004 (now estimated beforehand with a right shift (e.g., only count 6/10 Dem votes (actual people who voted for Dems) but count all 10/10 Rep votes), and then they further adjust the actual projected exit poll to match whatever the vote count is (and then readjust the right-shift for next year's poll depending on how off the estimate was). For any other country where the exit polls are manipulated, the world would have cried election fraud, but other countries fear America and remained silent. For a computerized election system to work, we'd need an "exit poll-based 'burglar alarm' system, independent of media and corporate control to detect computerized vote shifting." His overall recommendation is to return to hand-counted ballots with a strict chain of custody–Norway and the Netherlands restored hand counting for their elections in 2017 after observing our 2016 election (and are notable for not having a right-shift in their politics like many other countries).
