NEW: DOJ Must Hand Over Internal Emails About NYT Subpoenas
Two Justice Department lawyers were forced to withdraw subpoenas against the New York Times as the judge orders DOJ to hand over internal documents and communications about a non-disclosure order.
We all know the DOJ has been losing it’s credibility in front of judges, but a few days ago, they had their worst day be far in Judge Subramanian’s courtroom. The case centers around subpoenas the agency issued against New York Times journalists and their families over the past few weeks.
During the hearing, the judge mentioned sanctions, the DOJ admitted it wasn’t familiar with the case law governing subpoenaing reporters, and they admitted they lied to a judge to get sign-off on a non-disclosure order. And that’s just the beginning.
It was such a bad day that Chris Geidner referred to it as the “Worst day for the DOJ. So far.”

The DOJ lied to the judge. That's what stood out to me. And that they didn't know the laws of what they were trying to so. So DOJ lied and doesn't know what they're doing. That's just great. If this is under Blanche, he should not be voted in as AG, he shouldn't get a single vote
