It’s pretty obvious what the government is trying to do here. It’s trying to manufacture an “a priori” case against the defendant. Trying to justify its discriminatory actions against him; which are race-, national origin- and culture-based. It wouldn’t surprise me at all that gang tattoos were applied to his otherwise bare arms and hands while he was imprisoned, to match those that were photoshopped onto photographs disseminated to the press. Attorney General Bondi’s recent press conference comments about defendant should disqualify her from continuing in that office; as they were clearly over-the-top prejudicial.

Essentially, the Trump government is corrupt, tyrannical in the basic definition of the term, incompetent and ideologically driven against foreign people generally regardless their immigration status.

The Trump government is a kakistocracy. Pure and simple. Rule by the worst possible people. There's a reason why two former Florida Supreme Court Chief Justices have filed a Florida Bar complaint against Pam Bondi.

Interesting. I had forgotten that term. I’ve been ill lately, too. My mind isn’t as sharp as it was. As I recall, Hitler’s was a kakistocracy, too.

Hope you feel better soon.

I wouldn’t be surprised to have him show up with obviously Sharpied “tattoos” on his arms and hands, tbh.

Steve Singer's avatar

That must be the reason for all these delays. It takes time to manufacture “evidence”. New gang tatoos need time to heal. Jailhouse informants must memorize the script that government attorneys give them. Fake documents must be forged. It’s a logistical thing.

It’s for situations like this that the term “trumped up” was created.

It appears so to me as well!

We disbarred F. Lee Bailey for similar kinds of shenanigans these DOJ lawyers have engaged in during this litigation. I hope all of them suffer the same fate. Bailey died without ever regaining his license.

Thank you for explaining it all so well Allison. What's happening in the US is mind-boggling. You guys keep up the good fight. No to Fascism! Best from Canada

Who else sees this coming-trump ( reportedly) assiduously studied the ravings of a certain Herr H. The ongoing First Amendment protests around the country that will peak on 6/14, may provide him a "Reichstag" moment, where he'll declare martial law, either in certain (democratic) states, or why not go nationwide? Then no need to worry about midterms...

I liked this but I don’t LIKE IT!!! 😟

I believe one on his sister (the one who was a judge) said he had read Mein Kempf and admired Hitler like years ago already.

Soso… sorry… spell-check!… grrrrr

No problem I thought so 😉

I was going to use the phrase “Trumped up” (I capitalized it because, after all, Trump and his bodacious ideas are behind this). That this all comes from a traffic stop, that literally millions dollars are being spent to make an “example” of Mr. Garcia, cannot be a surprise. His campaign promises, to which so many apologists point, were nothing more than a smoke screen of racist intent. As many others have pointed out, consider the free pass that Trump has given to white folks from South Africa to see that it’s double edged.

Erin Flanagan's avatar

I did the same. It's still apt; now more than ever, actually. It's become an entirely abhorrent phrase to me, though. No longer in my vocab.

I hope Gestapo Steve gets the plank.

But first, a good tar & feathering! THEN the plank!

The wall, please.

Mr. Garcia is going to need money for lawyers and his family. I saw a go fund me but I don't know if it is legitimate. Does anyone have any insight?

Allison Gill's avatar

He's being repped by the ACLU, so good idea to give to them :)

Erin Flanagan's avatar

Solid job.

N.b.: JD Vance was in Nashville on Friday, May 30, 2025, supposedly for a fundraiser. The next Wednsday, Kilmar comes home to face the DOJ's fantasy complaint.

Elly MM's avatar

I don’t trust JD we must be vigilant about him.

With you 100%. The snake in the tree works through couchfucker. The next chapter will happen soon and be very difficult. We have all the lawyers; I hope we have tech.

I’m afraid there are too many who call themselves “Americans” who will believe Trumpistan bs.

Susanna J. Sturgis's avatar

This is also true of some who call themselves Christians.

Erin Flanagan's avatar

Factually, there aren't. The first 30% adore their dear leader, everyone else is a hanger-on who believed on or another of his lies and are now getting this or that part of the American Dream crushed by taco. Don't be afraid of true magats -- they are few and stupid by their own measure. Same bigots that we've always had. Isolate them. Publicly call them out and shame them in front of everyone as the fascists they are.

Congrats for the factual analysis which adds a lot of value.

On the principle everyone in the world knows this is a parody of justice within a parody of government lead by a clown.

While knowing, we are lacking facts.

Expecting the next post skin !

Thank you, as always, AG! Just finished my 2nd listen of this week's UnJustified... & I see this! Tomorrow AM, I can listen again with all this good info about bad deeds by DoJ added to it!

There is another "illegal" - he posted on substack yesterday. He said and has the documents - that charges and documents filed against him in court after detainment were totally and absurdly made up. He said they are still trying to pursue him on completely false charges with false documents.

Thomas Thompson's avatar

The utter desperation to get this guy in any possible way! First they scoop him up and deport him illegally, the outcry over this embarrasses the president, who is notoriously thin-skinned, and after three months the courts finally force them to return him. Now, a traffic stop three years ago in which a highway patrolman was "suspicious" with no proof, and they have pounced on the guy for human trafficking! This will undoubtedly end up as yet another embarrassment for Trump, but he is driven by the insane desire to be right, and to always "win", so Garcia has months, maybe years of court proceedings and investigations to look forward to....
