My Latest FOIA: Truth Social DMs
Recently, Trump posted a message to Pam Bondi that was meant to be a direct message. I want to know what other official messages he's sending to cabinet members.
On September 20th, Donald Trump posted this message on his Truth Social feed:
As it turns out, this was meant to be a direct message and not a public post. The Wall Street Journal reports: Trump believed he had sent Bondi the message directly, addressing it to “Pam,” and was surprised to learn it was public, the officials said. Bondi grew upset and called White House aides and Trump, who then agreed to send a second post praising Bondi as doing a “GREAT job.”
Two days later, NBC confirmed the report saying President Donald Trump intended his recent Truth Social post imploring Attorney General Pam Bondi to take legal action against his opponents as a direct message, according to a Trump administration official.
My lawyer and I got to thinking that if Trump is conducting official government business using direct messaging on social media apps, those messages should be subject to the Freedom of Information Act.
So we’ve filed the following FOIA request:
This is for the Truth Social and Twitter accounts of Kristi Noem. We’ve also filed identical requests for the accounts of Pam Bondi, Kash Patel, Tulsi Gabbard, Russ Vought, and Pete Hegseth.
Let’s see if we can drag their behind-the-scenes communications into the light, and maybe set precedent that these private social media messages are official government communications subject to FOIA in the future.
If you have the means, you can make a tax deductible donation to the law firm helping me with this here - they’re doing this work pro bono and every dollar will go directly to them. And as always, my content is free but you can support my work by considering a paid subscription.
Thank you!

Great work! We are behind you.
Great work!! They’re so sloppy they may not realize they left this loophole.
But they work so hard to thwart FOIA.
