Is there any chance that this ruling could be used as a precedent for the thousands of other people that are currently being held without a removal order in place and no record of criminal convictions? It would seem to me that any "indefinite detainment" of people in that situation would be impacted by this order or something similar.

Wonder how many are still in San Salvador?

Fwiw El Salvador. San Salvidor is their Capitol city.

And to your question (if the government has not snuck more captives back down there) all the Venezuelans were released and sent to Venezuela

Kristi Noem’s obsession with torturing Kilmar Ábrego García and his family is nothing short of psychopathic and sadistic.

The whole administration is so hateful.

Good news for a change.

What the hell happened to all of the other deportees sent to Cecot? Why aren't those people being returned to also undergo due process through the immigration courts? I want to see Judge Bosberg force the government to bring them back to the U.S., NOW!

I am thankful and grateful that Kilmar has been released. No more trying to whisk him away in the middle of the night!!! Let's get to the courtroom where the government needs to be further humiliated. Let Mr. Abrego walk completely free here on U.S. soil.

I want to say thank you for asking about the others!! I have nearly lost my sanity with the way our country focused on one man and seemed to aid in the disappearing of the hundreds of others, but after a few months all the Venezuelans were released and returned to Venezuela

Not thanks to one thing our government did!! That was a deal el Salvador and Venezuela came to

This excellent news makes me so very happy! Kilmar Abrego Garcia, like so many others, is just trying to live his life, raise a family, and make an honest living. Then along comes a hideous, vile piece of garbage, a convicted felon, determined to torture anyone and everyone who seems vulnerable to attack and make the innocent ones’ lives a living hell on earth.

#EndTheTrumpRegime RIGHT NOW!

The government should be required to provide him with security after putting his life in danger from unhinged MAGAts

I am horrified that the US made a deal with El Salvador for us to send people to a life sentence at CECOT (a gulag). We shouldn't send anyone to a foreign prison and certainly not just kidnap someone off the street and stuff them on a plane. I am ashamed of our country. No matter how much s**t is going on this is NOT normalized.

Well,it's not yet time to relax. They have deported thousands to war torn countries in Africa

Remember the ones that were being kept in shipping c9ntianers in a dock somewhere in Africa. I never heard whar happened to them

😡 There is so much crap that we cannot keep track of all the human rights violations
