Abrego is more brave than every nationally elected Republican official. He is fighting for all of us. If I were him, Costa Rica would be so tempting.

The US government should not be legally allowed to deport anyone to a place that the State department warns Americans is dangerous unless it is their home country and they agree.

This tactic reminds me of what the first Trump admin did to Michael Cohen when he refused sign an agreement giving up his right to speak to the media and/or to write a book. Because he refused to waive his First Amendment rights, the Tump DOJ threw him back in prison, at the height of the COVID pandemic. Took a ruling by another judge to get him back out. They're doing the same to Mr. Abrego here. Waive your Constitutional rights or else....

Yes - very good comparison. Cohen was put in solitary and was lucky his wife found a lawyer to file a writ of habeas corpus. We don't know how many people don't have anyone to fight for them and are suffering unheard and unseen.

Poor Mr. Abrego was unwittingly made a poster child for DHS 's antics. I'm glad that he has been able to get to this point yet so very sorry that he went through what he did in El Salvador. Our criminal administration has wasted so much of the courts time and resources putting on this show.

do we have the name of the person that can be prosecuted for breaking the judges orders or false testimony?

Judge Xinis was taking ZERO crap from the DOJ..... And I LOVE IT! Thanks AG & Adam for "breaking it all down"! I know a lot of Americans were hoping for a good hearing for Mr. Abrego today especially after the early morning arrest.

I truly do not understand why after all these years we do not have a bipartisan immigration process. I’ve been posting the below. I know it’s fantasy. However, if they can spend all that goddamn money on ICE, why can we not spend it on immigration courts, hiring judges, and their staff?

If ICE’s $27.7 billion annual budget were entirely redirected to immigration courts:

Maximum theoretical hires:

1. 53,269 judges $250,00

2. 159,807 staff $90,000 (1:3 ratio)
