I disagree nearly 100% with Charlotte's opening observations about the election of Pope Leo. I think people are not giving the Curia enough credit for this extremely shrewd election. C'mon! It only took two days!

As one who is not Catholic, but maybe married at a Mission, a subject is the Cardinal in SF who wants to go back to Latin mass and tried to get amazing Nancy Pelosi barred from communion. Glad he’s not our Pope.
Has anyone done a list/analysis of all of Trump's Executive Orders? It would be great if you or one of your colleagues would create this. What I envision is the text of the EO and then an analysis/description of how it is illegitimate.
I'm a 64 year old Catholic lesbian, married for 20+ years. I live in a tiny town of about 3,000 on the Maine- New Hampshire border and we're pretty much the token, resident lesbians. We've been fortunate to belong to a fairly welcoming parish as well as being embraced by our community in a purple state. Our former parish in Massachusetts was very welcoming and clear about this with us. Our current, new parish of about 1 year is still trying to figure us out but we have a young priest who's learning to love us and we're slowly winning hearts and minds here. I'm cautiously optimistic that Pope Leo will at least uphold some of the bold statements and changes initiated by Pope Francis, who I think was a total bad-ass, btw. Time will tell but we plan to keep showing up, being visible and present and trying to be the change we wish to see in the world. Even in these scary times of the orange shitgibbon’s administration.
