I think it's good for folks who don't necessarily like Dems to see that we have standards. There's value in setting an example of doing the right thing, especially when it's inconvenient.

It would help if men who lifted him up gave a retraction like Khanna instead of blaming voters after promoting him and ignoring SA, racism, and misogyny. All of that was evident in June if not before, and people, primarily men, promoted him and shit on Dems.

Funny .. as you said "on the heels of" Waj .. I have to remind you all that VAR saw what the referee did NOT spot namely that Folarin Balogun trod on Tarik Muharemovic's ankle .. or heel .. during a 50/50 challenge in the World Cup Round of 32 match against Bosnia and Herzegovina. This made the tackle turn into a serious foul according to rules on fouls and there's no intent involved here as these are safety rules, not criminal conduct laws. Several footballers have suffered serious ankle injurie in this game to the point of necessitating retirement from the sport. The rules are in place and constantly evolving with time not just to safeguard players but to advance the safe tackling skills of the footballers which increases the flow of the game and enjoyment for the beautiful game. I freely disclose that at 76 I've been a lover of this game 58 years, before then Handball was my sport. On Saturday I'll be watching the Norway - England game with my son, Martin, he born an Englishman, me a Norwegian shouldn't cause any conflict at all :) .. not at all. Hope you are both able to enjoy the match too!

Haha, me an American living in Norway, might see the game with a British friend …no conflict when watching on BBC…but will the earthquake monitors in Bergen and Oslo register each goal again?

Alison, of course you could detect Platner’s undulating predatory sludge before most—doesn’t surprise me in the least. So sorry you had to go through more vulgar attacks and experience PTSD again through this event. You are a North Star. 💫 ❤️ Ultimate respect ➕ admiration.

Apparently DJT does know something about soccer: “At Winged Foot, where Trump is a member, the caddies got so used to seeing him kick his ball back onto the fairway they came up with a nickname for him: Pele,” Rick Reilly wrote, referring to the Brazilian soccer star.” Courtesy of The Independent

I live in Louisville, Ky. I called the McConnell local office and inquired about his status. They had no answer. Said they could not talk about his status! When my daughter was in high school, she went to the same school as McConnell's daughter. At that time, he had left his wife for Chao, and he was a deadbeat Dad! Once a creep always a creep.

Heather Cox Richardson has said she won’t endorse a candidate, not sure if that’s just the primary or the general election, too, but I’m positive that she said she won’t for the primary. In fact, she’s having to correct people. AI is hallucinating that she did and even providing a date when people search. A perfect lesson on why you shouldn’t trust AI info.

That game was a travesty. FIFA’s corruption is out in plain sight now. Why not; it’s all about the money anyway. What a terrible shame for the beautiful game. Go Mo Salah 💕⚽️

I really enjoyed this discussion.

I'm so torn about the Platner thing. I want a new progressive candidate so much and I can't tell if the allegations are fake or real.

I really like the idea of letting Maine come up with a new candidate. Thanks for your clarification!
