Anyone who thinks Trump will ever face any meaningful accountability for his crimes is living in a fantasy land. He is now protected by the SCOTUS's ruling in Trump v. United States and by their current actively allowing him to violate the law.
While there may be speculation about what Trump did or didn't do with Epstein, there is as yet no convincing evidence that he actually was engaged in pedophilia. It is hard to imagine a more depraved man than Trump, but crimes require evidence. I have no idea what will happen with regard to the "Epstein files." They've been in possession of Bondi, et al. which means that trustworthy evidence can only come from other sources, barring a minor miracle. As far as I'm concerned, Trump will never be convicted of anything and he will never clear his name in my mind, because I already know enough about him and his crimes to justify a very long prison sentence. Very recently he has engaged in actual murders of people in boats who are killed without any due process. I don't believe they are drug traffickers, but evidence could persuade me otherwise, that that still wouldn't justify killing them. In one attack, there was a survivor and rather than bring that man to the US to stand trial, he was repatriated, which creates a powerful suspicion that he was absolutely not a drug trafficker, but a person in the wrong place at a time when Trump was willing to kill people to show how tough he is. There is no penalty that fits the POS that Trump is.

The responsibility for what is happening now rests squarely on the shoulders of the millions of Americans who cast the stupidest and most irresponsible votes in US history.
The failings of our electorate are so significant that I no longer believe that it can be relied upon to support democracy. Stupidity and ignorance have reached catastrophic levels. There was no good reason for anyone to vote for Donald Trump in 2024. I could spend hours laying out the reasons why that is true, but suffice it to say that all any responsible voter with a modicum of intelligence needed to know in November 2024 to reject Trump was well-known and widely available.
The SCOTUS could have prevented this, but they chose not to -- including the justices appointed by Democratic presidents. That was inexcusable in my opinion. The idea circulated that voters had the right to choose whomever they wanted to be their president. That is absurd on its face. There are constitutional reasons why that isn't true -- voters can't vote for a 34-year-old candidate and does anyone really believe that someone who is 34 years 364 days old is any less qualified than they will be a day later?
Another constitutional proscription deals with people who engage in insurrection. You have to be an idiot or corrupt to believe that what Trump did surrounding the 2020 election was not insurrection. But he got a pass. So, we can blamed what's happening on what -- cowardly justices? When we consider how disengaged and ignorant many millions of Americans are with regard to politics, the Constitution, the law, etc. wouldn't it be a good idea if those who know better -- the SCOTUS justices -- protect the voters from their own stupidity and ignorance, especially when there is a solid reason to do just that. Now, with the permission and assistance of the Supreme Court, Trump is dismantling democracy. And there are still some nearly 40% of Americans who are OK with that. After all the Trump has done in the first ten months of his second term, anyone who still approves of his performance represents a clear and present danger to democracy, the rule of law, and the future of this country.
Why blame Trump? Project 2025 made it clear what he planned to do. And now he's doing it. We were warned and we elected him. Obviously, those of us who opposed Trump don't really deserve what is happening, but anyone who voted for him deserves everything bad that happens as a result of their votes. The most important outcome of the Comey and James cases would be an honest decision about vindictive/selective prosecution. Anyone who thinks Trump will ever face any meaningful accountability for his crimes is living in a fantasy land. He is now protected by the SCOTUS's ruling in Trump v. United States and by their current actively allowing him to violate the law.
While there may be speculation about what Trump did or didn't do with Epstein, there is as yet no convincing evidence that he actually was engaged in pedophilia. It is hard to imagine a more depraved man than Trump, but crimes require evidence. I have no idea what will happen with regard to the "Epstein files." They've been in possession of Bondi, et al. which means that trustworthy evidence can only come from other sources, barring a minor miracle. As far as I'm concerned, Trump will never be convicted of anything and he will never clear his name in my mind, because I already know enough about him and his crimes to justify a very long prison sentence. Very recently he has engaged in actual murders of people in boats who are killed without any due process. I don't believe they are drug traffickers, but evidence could persuade me otherwise, that that still wouldn't justify killing them. In one attack, there was a survivor and rather than bring that man to the US to stand trial, he was repatriated, which creates a powerful suspicion that he was absolutely not a drug trafficker, but a person in the wrong place at a time when Trump was willing to kill people to show how tough he is. There is no penalty that fits the POS that Trump is.

The responsibility for what is happening now rests squarely on the shoulders of the millions of Americans who cast the stupidest and most irresponsible votes in US history.
The failings of our electorate are so significant that I no longer believe that it can be relied upon to support democracy. Stupidity and ignorance have reached catastrophic levels. There was no good reason for anyone to vote for Donald Trump in 2024. I could spend hours laying out the reasons why that is true, but suffice it to say that all any responsible voter with a modicum of intelligence needed to know in November 2024 to reject Trump was well-known and widely available.
The SCOTUS could have prevented this, but they chose not to -- including the justices appointed by Democratic presidents. That was inexcusable in my opinion. The idea circulated that voters had the right to choose whomever they wanted to be their president. That is absurd on its face. There are constitutional reasons why that isn't true -- voters can't vote for a 34-year-old candidate and does anyone really believe that someone who is 34 years 364 days old is any less qualified than they will be a day later?
Another constitutional proscription deals with people who engage in insurrection. You have to be an idiot or corrupt to believe that what Trump did surrounding the 2020 election was not insurrection. But he got a pass. So, we can blamed what's happening on what -- cowardly justices? When we consider how disengaged and ignorant many millions of Americans are with regard to politics, the Constitution, the law, etc. wouldn't it be a good idea if those who know better -- the SCOTUS justices -- protect the voters from their own stupidity and ignorance, especially when there is a solid reason to do just that. Now, with the permission and assistance of the Supreme Court, Trump is dismantling democracy. And there are still some nearly 40% of Americans who are OK with that. After all the Trump has done in the first ten months of his second term, anyone who still approves of his performance represents a clear and present danger to democracy, the rule of law, and the future of this country.
Why blame Trump? Project 2025 made it clear what he planned to do. And now he's doing it. We were warned and we elected him. Obviously, those of us who opposed Trump don't really deserve what is happening, but anyone who voted for him deserves everything bad that happens as a result of their votes. The rest of us just sit in the back seat and come along for the ride. I wish it weren't so. I don't get pleasure from dumb, ignorant people suffering, but it isn't unjust.
