In July 2025, my lawyer at National Security Counselors filed a Freedom of Information Act request on behalf of my independent podcast network, MSW Media, to obtain training videos used to instruct FBI agents on how to redact the Epstein files.
On August 2nd, having not received a response, we filed a lawsuit against the Justice Department. In November 2025, Jason Leopold got a tranche of emails in a separate FOIA request, and based on one of those emails having a PowerPoint attachment, and because my sources confirmed that some training videos were embedded in PowerPoint decks, my lawyer sent a clarification to DOJ in December stating we want all videos embedded in PPT decks along with the slide deck itself.
In July of 2026, the FBI responded to the underlying FOIA request saying it found 75 minutes of videos, and that it was refusing to release them in their entirety. They also said they rejected our email from 6 months prior because they felt we were inappropriately trying to expand the scope of our FOIA.
In August, the DOJ asked for an additional 90 days to respond to our lawsuit - trying to push it out past the midterm elections. The judge said no, and set a due date for September 25th. DOJ asked for an additional week due to a vacation and it was granted.
And late Friday, they filed their brief, along with a declaration by the woman who ran the March 2025 FBI redacta-palooza where they locked 1000+ agents in the building to review the investigative files they had just confiscated from the Southern District of New York after closing down an ongoing investigation into Epstein coconspirators opened under the Biden DOJ and firing the prosecutors.
I can see why they wanted to hold this until after the midterms. In it, they outline that there are NINE training videos, that TWO of them instruct agents on how to flag files for supervisory review (ones that contain certain names including Trump), and that they relied on a search from over a year ago conducted in someone else’s case to satisfy my FOIA request.
