Whether for or against the oligarchy, he’s coming for you. He doesn’t know loyalty, I suspect not even to his parents. However, the only way to stop or even slow him down is to take the fight to him. The huge protests, in the courts - which is difficult because a lot of the judges weren’t acting in a superior court judge capacity but more like sycophants that were in cahoots with granting that garbage immunity, Adam Schiff, Jasmine Crockett, Jamie Raskin, et al, are fighting back pretty strongly. One of the things working for us is his health - or lack thereof, age and rapidly declining mental status.
He’s a cuckoo clock, springs about to be sprung, and absolutely needs to be removed from office. Why must millions more have to die?
Removed from office in favor of the much younger and probably smarter JD Vance? I don't think so. The whole GOP needs to be fumigated. This isn't just about particular personalities.
I don’t get the disconnect by law firms. Fighting in court is what they do for living. We’ve seen enough Trump shenanigans to know that nothing gets anyone off the hook if he changes his mind and decides they’ve turned from sycophant to foe. Better to fight than surrender.
They are, most likely, thinking about their bottom line. Fighting for Justice costs money. Some firms limited their pro bono work to $1 million and with all things trump, money has no limit and he's bankrupted casinos and businesses. He will blow through that mill very fast. Then it will be up to the law firms to decide whether they've had enough of his frivolous lawsuits while they continue to lose money by the lack of clientele, if they will find their spines and join the fight or if they will continue to bow down and kiss the ring.
Sooner or later they will have to answer for their capitulating.
Some people can't. It's up to those of us who can. True, it makes me crazy that so many people (mostly white) thought the decline started with Trump. But we sure as hell can't depend on the mainstream media to set the record straight.
Isn't the capitulating by whomever or whatever institution a thing we are beyond for the most part? Is there still more knee bending yet to come, any knee benders left?
And me, I am the choir and Allison is the preacher but the knee benders, they're not listening to her and her cautionary explanations. I am thinking that we used to shop at Montgomery Wards, but they went under, I shopped at Kmart and they went under, Sears Roebuck, stores I can't remember the names of, Malls, newspapers..."market forces" and my consumer life has undergone a steady recognizable pattern where corporate failure happens and we move on to the next supplier but this is something different. Trump is not the issue, it is the intentional decline of our system of laws and economics that has been under steady pressure since the New Deal, since, social reforms, environmental reforms...Reagan, Limbaugh, Gingrich. Hell I am blathering. Got to go.
Every kindergartener knows this instinctively. A bully won't stop until you punch him. I guess these capitulators never learned that because they would always cave.
During the Qin dynasty, several prisoners escaped while being transported. Knowing that the penalty for allowing any prisoners to escape was death, the escort commander freed the remaining prisoners and launched a rebellion which would overthrow the Qin dynasty
Some people have courage of their convictions, but most do not. The majority of Americans take the path of least resistance when faced with the power of the presidency, it's human nature. Most can't imagine facing off with the ultimate office of power, even when it's been demonstrated over and over that when we fight oppression and persecution we win!
Yes! Some of this I knew. A lot of it I didn't. But as you well know, the rot goes deep not only in the Republican Party but in U.S. "democracy" in general. The electorate has been snoozing for a very long time, and not without reason. Now the threat to our aspirational (a kinder word than "so-called," IMO) democracy is so obvious that more of us are realizing what's at stake and what each one of us can do about it. Let's keep going!
I am really hoping that they don't, but my hopes are scraping the bottom. He's claiming "mental anguish"? That's hilarious after all of the interviews they had to severely edit of his to put a somewhat complete sentence together.
Don’t capitulate. Just say no.

Indeed, and the bottom line when losing clients is staff layoffs and attorneys jumping to another firm or company as corporate counsel.
Ahhh. Of course.
Unfortunately, in this day of instants, people can't remember what happened last week, much less a year ago.

Good work!

Thank you, A.G I appreciate your defending our democracy and decency!
Excellent piece by Allison. She nailed every aspect of capitulating to the TACO criminal felon. No good happens. He’ll just bite you in the ass.
Great article - thank you AG!

Kiss the foot, get kicked in the face. Every single time.

I am a bit behind in the CBS bullshit lawsuit. So, they settled? Please tell me that it's not so!
I don’t see that it’s happened yet.

Lol, exactly
Yes, yes we ARE watching - and voting.
