Some things are just not pardonable or forgivable.

...or even worth mentioning. She was in on all of it, eight gets you five.

Release the full, unredacted files. Then release the names of every person pushing for a pardon for G. Maxwell. In that order.

It would not surprise me at all if there were some overlap.

Of course, they are anonymous.

They want to be elected again…..

No R will get my vote! I used to be a Centrist & would vote for the person who had the same/similar values & beliefs, but no more. 😞

I didn't know that I had registered in CA as Republican.

I am now embarrassed beyond belief and will re-register as "independent".

I resent the fact that USAID was killed off. I had been a supporter for over 30 years to that org. What is happening to us?

Color me slow on the upbeat. ???

I have tried all kinds of innovative approaches to your answer; I don't find a way to put those two concepts together. Perhaps because of my age: I am an 84 year old retired attorney with an English major background. What am I missing?

Ok, I knew there was a rationale behind it. Just couldn't put it together. Correct. That "corporation = people" decision was the worst thing ever to fall out of the USSCt crib.

Why are they anonymous because they don't want their constituents to know?

Dawn's avatar

Simply, they most likely are enablers and beneficiaries of the Epstein class. Like cockroaches they are currying favor to DJT in the dark/anonymously while telegraphing their support for him.

Dwight Holmes's avatar

I'm assuming - without any actual source or knowledge - that they're doing this because Maxwell has Melania by the short & curlies, and so her minions and Trump's minions are putting the pressure on to garner support for this before they actually do it and make it public.

Dawn's avatar

We can only speculate at this juncture. However, as concerned independent researchers delve into the Epstein files, the unimaginable horrors are increasingly revealed; an evil that seems to know no bounds. If DJT is fool enough to pardon Maxwell, I predict the outrage by the voters will seal the blue tsunami in November.

🤬🤬💩she’s as despicable as a person can be and should be doing hard time for all the pain and suffering she caused to all those poor children!

Monica Early Hoff's avatar

Agree 100%. They need to send her back to the prison she was in previous to this. Why should she ever be comfortable after all the pain she caused.

Andrea Chiou's avatar

Sorry please explain to me. What does congress have to do with her pardon. Only the president has the power to pardon. Not Congress. It tires me to see this repeated everywhere without the context about why their opinion matters at all on this topic. Educate me if I am missing something?!

Barbara Craig's avatar

No pardon for Maxwell. Go find and prosecute the co-conspiritors.

Suki Herr's avatar

Name names. If someone wants to pardon a convicted pedophile have the courage to put your name on it.

None of this anonymous horse shit.

Jesus H. Christ!!! What a moral-less, spine-less pack of boot-licking a-holes the repubs are.

Penny Laneheart's avatar

I wondered if maxwell is afraid Amanda Ungaro will beat her to the punch with Melania revelations. If Amanda exposes all, what maxwell has will be of no value for pardon-extorting purposes….

Mare Stone's avatar

Ghislaine Maxwell is trying to shake down Trump & apparently has enough damning evidence to do it . . . unless she gets a pardon.

This is how weak our TACO President is❗️

Alison, you’ve resuscitated my will to continue engagement with the “flood”. Legal experts like yourself help us follow the madness with sanity. While reading the pop-up notification, I became repulsed and disgusted, yet the question to myself was “why”.

Listening to your thoughts and questions as you threaded them all together, I realized you were answering my own thoughts and questions. However, hearing you lay out the foundation of “why” was monumental for that eureka revelation! Thank youuuu!

Mary E Crosby's avatar

If she is pardoned, there will be hell to pay. Every single senator or congressperson who supports that will be voted out.

And here I thought the Republicans could not stoop lower. My heart aches for all the Epstein victims who have been denied justice, and are now about to be kicked in the teeth to boot.

Can anyone imagine a president pardoning a convicted criminal who is in prison for sexually abusing and trafficking children and young women? The answer is, "Yes," everyone can imagine the criminal Donald Trump pardoning a fellow pervert. Perverts of a feather abuse together.

Many presidents (all?) have issued questionable or inappropriate pardons. Clinton did, Obama did, and Biden did, but no president to my knowledge has a record of obscene pardons, utterly inexcusable pardons that have freed violent insurrectionists, drug traffickers, and financial criminals, some serving very long sentences. Trump's abuse of the presidential pardon power has set records that will never be approached, let alone equaled or surpassed, unless the American electorate once again fails its responsibility and elects a depraved, fascist thug, who coincidentally just happens to be a criminal many times over. Needless to say, Trump's crimes are serious felony level crimes, including sexual abuse/rape.

There is only one pardon I can imagine today that would be as beyond the pale and as serious a breach of moral and ethical standards as pardoning Ghislaine Maxwell would be. That would be if Trump is eventually convicted of a crime and a future president (or governor, if it were a state criminal conviction) pardoned Trump himself. Maxwell's crimes are among the worst imaginable, but Trump's exceed hers. Equally appalling would be a pre-emptive pardon that prevented Trump from being prosecuted for one of his countless crimes

Some of Trump's worst "crimes" are not even considered crimes in the perverse world we live in, because he has the right to directly kill and indirectly cause the deaths of not a few people, or hundreds, or even thousands. The estimates are that as a result of what Trump did to the USAID the death toll is already far into the hundreds of thousands and will eventually far surpass a million. For Trump, that level of depravity is just business as usual.

How dare these men pardon pedophiles! We must know who they are so as to inform every woman in our country. This ya absolutely unacceptable!
