For one, I am so glad Jack Smith has started speaking up. His interview with Andrew Weissmann was spot on.

Release the Epstein files AND volume II!!!!

Is he the only one with a copy of this doc or does Jack/staff/others have it too?

Total non-lawyer here assuming CANNON-igans will ensue if she or another untrustworthy judge has the one and only doc.

Jack doesn’t have a copy as he’s asked for access to his files to prepare his defense.

On a podcast, Ms Gill said that P Bondi has a copy. It is highly unlikely that Bondi will release Volume II

Bondi is no doubt destroying any and all records that could be used against Trump and his regime. I wonder what she will wear to her Nuremberg trial?

Why wouldn’t he keep copies? If nothing else so if further evidence came to light he could check it against the original filing. No copies makes no sense.

Expand full comment
Catriona Lohan-Conway's avatar

Probably cos he’s not entitled to keep them as he’s no longer a gov employee.

Keeping a copy would be putting himself in legal/criminal trouble. Smith is all about THE LAW, so I doubt he would do that.

He follows the rules. His report is government information, not his. Keep the faith!

If you're not familiar with legal procedures in law offices as well as government, the documents are TRACKED..... Who is accessing them, Are they being printed, are theby being copied electronically, are they being emailed... ALL heavily tracked.

Further, an account # is entered for billing. Without that, the systems freeze.

These are used to track "chain of custody", which establishes the Authenticity and chronology of the records.

Very tough to evade a well maintained system

tRump is going to appoint her a Supreme Court justice. Replacing Thomas or Alito. She’s proven her total corruption and is as such a perfect candidate.

I wish I didn't believe this. The only thing(s) standing in her way atm (imho) is the self-interest quotient of the ancient chauvinists currently occupying SCOTUS & blocking her crowning.

OTOH, if they hesitate long enough for opposition in congress to grow - the appointment process can be made much of.

Cannon is a biased, perjured phony judge who doesn’t know law and needs to be impeached. When dems come in a committee must be formed to impeach all those who have disgraced themselves. Cannon, for sure, The supremes, for sure, and Tom Homan will be fired and hung . Hang Tom Homan for ICE cruelty.

It is incredible to me how officers of the court seem to have gotten away with so much and forsaken the law. I do not understand the loyalty and obeisance that this man is able to extract from some of those within the judicial system. It seems to be in line with the fear that Republican law makers have admitted to. If I'm still around when this shit show is over and the air has cleared, I hope this can all be explained. For now, I am dumbfounded.

Most lawyers go to law school because they love the law… oh wait not true. Many go for the cash. However those who love the law want to protect the rule of law. These idiots tho k they will be pardoned. 47 will be dead but they still need to live their lives. Such short sighted thinking…

The defiance of constitutional law speaks to a much deeper rot, and a long-time building, conspiracy, within the GOP, and among very wealthy, entitled, above-the-law rich people, like the Trump family, his corrupt cabinet and the corrupt sychophants he appoints..

Thank you again, Allison. It's good to know about the Knight Institute and its continuing fight to expose the truth. Some of my deepest, darkest, angriest thoughts are about "Judge" Aileen Cannon and they all focus on our inability to do anything about her. This, at least, is something. I'm so grateful to you and your reporting. Stay well. Stay safe. I read somewhere else someone said: All I want for Christmas is the Epstein files, the Epstein files, the Epstein files---sing it with me!
